YoShule Docs
For:AdminHeadmasterRegistrar

Every stream should have a class teacher — the form teacher responsible for that stream's roll-call, discipline, and parent communication. YoShule tracks the assignment so it's clear who owns each stream and surfaces a warning when one is missing.

Who can manage class teachers

Admin, Headmaster, and Registrar can assign, change, or remove a stream's class teacher. Only staff who already hold the Teacher role can be assigned — assignment does not grant any new permissions; it simply records who the class teacher is.

From the streams page

  1. Go to Dashboard → Streams (or open a class and pick Manage streams).
  2. Find the stream in the table. The Class teacher column shows the current assignment, or an Assign class teacher button when empty.
  3. Click Assign class teacher (or the pencil icon next to a name) to open the picker.
  4. Search the teacher list, pick one, and Save. You'll see a toast confirming the assignment.
  5. To unassign, click the red icon and confirm the removal.

Reassigning replaces the current class teacher in one step — the previous assignment is kept as history.

From the HR Class teachers tab

  1. Go to Dashboard → HR → Staff.
  2. Switch to the Class teachers tab.
  3. Streams missing a class teacher appear at the top with a warning banner. Click Assign to pick a teacher.
  4. To change an existing assignment, click Reassign; to clear it, click Remove.

The tab title shows a yellow badge with the count of streams still missing a class teacher.

The bell menu shows a Streams section with a Streams without class teacher count for Admin, Headmaster, and Registrar. Clicking the row jumps straight to the HR Class teachers tab so you can resolve the gap.

A teacher can be the class teacher of more than one stream, but each stream only has one active class teacher at a time.
