Lesson roll calls
Find My lesson roll calls on the dashboard for Teachers, Directors and Headteachers. It shows lessons assigned to you only during their due window: from the lesson start through the deadline, including the configured grace period. Upcoming, expired and exempt lessons do not appear in the active list. Drafts, submissions and amendments are only allowed within that same window. Submitted attendance remains available in History after the deadline.
Open a due lesson from My lesson roll calls. Each dated lesson has its own roster and deadline. Set every student's status explicitly; a draft or partial roster does not fulfil a required roll call.
Save draft preserves incomplete work. Final submission saves a draft first, then requests a fresh device location. If permission or location is unavailable, retry or enter an exception reason. Student attendance can be saved while location review remains pending. Keep the form unchanged when retrying an uncertain network response so the same submission is not recorded twice.
Location indicates where the device reports being, not proof of teaching. Poor accuracy, an outside or ambiguous campus fix, and unavailable location require management review. A pending or rejected exception does not satisfy compliance. Acceptance uses the original submission time.
Management
Directors and Headteachers can enable the requirement and grace period prospectively. Directors configure campus coordinates, radius, accuracy/freshness limits and a finite location-retention period in Settings → School location. Existing settings are read-only until Edit. Campus changes create new versions.
Management can substitute or reschedule an unsubmitted dated lesson, exempt it with a reason, or void a submission. Voiding reopens the requirement and removes that roll call from current student summaries while retaining its submission history. On-behalf submissions and amendments require attribution and a reason. Another manager must review a manager's own location exception.
Impromptu roll calls use the same complete-roster and location submission flow, with a 30-minute window from creation, but remain optional and do not satisfy an assigned lesson. Gatekeepers have no access to student roll-call records or raw location evidence.
