Staff attendance
Open Gate desk → Staff attendance. Choose the school day and a staff member to see expected hours, recorded visits and individual lesson or duty coverage.
Working commitments share the existing staff availability source. Directors and Headteachers can edit future commitments, including split windows and overnight shifts. Timetabled lessons, published exam invigilation and timed responsibilities appear as obligations. An untimed duty does not imply a full working day.
Recorded presence does not certify that a lesson was taught. Lesson roll-call compliance is shown separately. An open visit provides provisional evidence but never invents completed hours or a checkout. Overlapping completed intervals are counted once. Missing schedules remain Schedule not set, not absence.
Exceptions and review
Management records leave, off-site work or holidays for the relevant time window. Partial-day exceptions remove only that portion of expected time. Gatekeepers may submit a manual observation; another manager accepts or rejects it. An accepted point observation can establish presence, but does not invent an arrival/departure interval or completed hours.
An expected day without evidence becomes an unconfirmed absence after its final working window. Management can confirm it with a reason. Evidence added later is recalculated and can change the projection.
Daily schedule snapshots preserve the obligations used for the original result. Management can explicitly recalculate a schedule with a reason; the previous snapshot and projection remain in history. Historical days with no captured schedule are marked as missing rather than reconstructed from today's timetable.
Management can export a selected staff member's date range, up to 32 days. Reports distinguish expected days, presence, confirmed and unconfirmed absences, and missing schedules.
Review duties and exceptions lists dated windows. Management can cancel a window or assign a substitute for a duty, with a reason. Recalculate the affected staff days to apply those changes to already captured schedule snapshots.
