Who still owes marks, and for which papers.

Opening the board

  1. Go to Dashboard → Assessment → Marks Progress.
  2. Pick the term, and optionally a single assessment.
  3. Use the last selector to switch between Outstanding, Not submitted, Submitted and All papers.

The bell menu also carries a Papers awaiting marks line, which takes you straight here.

What a teacher sees

The same board, narrowed to your own papers. The count in the bell menu is already scoped that way, and this is the screen that says which papers it means.

The school-wide sections are not shown: By teacher would group you under your own name, and No teacher assigned is the Dean's backlog rather than yours. Reopen is a Dean-only action, so that column is absent too — ask them if a paper was signed off too early. Everything else is identical, and a paper name still links straight into the marks grid at the right class, subject and paper.

Reading a paper's state

Two things are shown separately, because they change independently.

How far the marks have got:

StateMeaning
Not startedNothing has been entered.
In progressSome marks entered, some missing.
Not submittedEvery mark is entered, but the teacher has not signed the paper off.
SubmittedSigned off, locked, and on report cards.

How urgent it is: Not due · Due soon · Overdue — from the marks-due date on the assessment.

A paper is chased until it is submitted, not until the last cell is filled. "Not submitted" means the work is done and one button is outstanding — usually the quickest thing on the board to clear.

You may also see roster changed beside a submitted paper. That means students were enrolled after it was signed off, so the counts it was submitted at no longer match the class. Nothing is reopened automatically.

Papers with no teacher

Papers whose subject has no assigned teacher appear in their own card. Nobody is reminded about them, because there is nobody to remind — they are yours to chase or enter. Assign a teacher under Academic → Class Subjects to move them into the main list.

Reopening a paper

A teacher cannot unlock their own marks. Only you, the Headteacher or an Admin can.

  1. Find the submitted paper and press Reopen.
  2. Give a reason. It is optional, but it is what the teacher sees in the paper's history.
  3. Confirm.

Reopening makes the marks editable again, drops the paper off report cards until it is resubmitted, and starts it being chased again. It is recorded against your name in the paper's history.

Reopening does not re-send reminders that have already gone out for earlier deadlines. If the teacher needs to know now, tell them — or wait for the next scheduled reminder.
